Since there seems to be some discussion of slugs and accuracy on a fairly regular basis, I'd like to share the fact that I did some limited testing with Federal's new Truball slug load and found the results to, at least, cut group sizes in half over other Foster type slugs like Win and Federal Tactical and Federal HP Maximum.
Their reduced recoil version is listed at 1300 fps, and standard at 1600 from 30" barrels. The technology utilizes a polymer ball inside the base of the slug to expand it and keep it centered and in contact with the bore for better accuracy.
I still like Tactical slugs for SD, but for those who hunt deer with slugs from a smoothbore, this stuff has possiblilities. I'll be doing some more testing, and I wouldn't be surprised if 100 yd accuracy is easy to obtain on deer size targets from my Scattergun Tech, rifle sighted cylinder bore.
