These are 230gr FMJ I found on sale. Can anyone tell me if these will feed 1911's OK? I'd like to get 1000 rounds for target practice, but thought I better ask first. Thank you.

You ARE joking, yes?

After thinking about it...I must apologize...
I truly thought you were pulling the leg, so to speak.
The 45 ACP is the round designed for the 1911 originally. Military gun and ammo...Made for each other.
Enjoy your new stuff and welcome to the club of 1911 owners...

One thing to keep in mind. That cheap military surplus ammo is mildly corrosive, so definitely clean up your weapon soon after you get back from the range.

Is it in a white, generic-looking box with the product number "FC-##whatever##" on it?

If so, it's good quality, non corrosive, and quite accurate. Gov't contract overrun stuff from Federal, wholesalers have been blowing it out. You can actually buy it cheaper than 230gr American Eagle some places, and it burns much cleaner in my experience.

I've run it through my Glock 30, my 1911's and my 625-4 without a hitch.

I should have bought more when I had the chance; anybody selling this stuff on the web?

Syd had some for awhile that was from WWII...Still packed in Ham cans!

The last Federal I saw was on the shooters.com site. Go there and do a search on it...maybe you'll find some competitors with a few cases...Where did you find yours'?
