Federal M-14 question

I have an opportunity to buy an M-14. all GI parts made on a Federal Ordnance receiver, pre-ban (made in late 1960s-1970s ??)with one mag for $700. Sounds like a great deal to me. What do you think? What should I be looking for when I inspect the gun?

The owner tells me that the receiver is stamped "Cnetury Arms International, St. Albans, VT." I am told that the guns sold by Century were all made by Federal.

I'm going tonight to look at the gun.

I worked on a Fed Ord M14 gun once and I was glad it wasn't mine. It took extra work just to try to make mil-spec parts fit. Never again.
