i have a sig 229 .40 that i want to buy a 357 sig barrel for. the sig factory barrel is $119 in the shotgun news. federal arms has a ported barrel "SUPPOSEDLY" a drop in for $90. does anyone have any info on the federal arms barrel? thanks

KITT,
I have heard too many problems with Federal Arms products. You may wanna steer towards Jarvis or Barsto. Also, I would probably want some minor fitting-less time and $ in the long run. Just my thoughts.

i have a federal 9x19 barrel in my cz52, the only prob i had was this:the chamber is a tite one so when using reloads use fresh unshot brass and then full length resize it,other than that it eats all factory loads no probs no sweat, and on the cz52 of mine the headspace was correct being a drop in fit.no sqwauk here for a korean/chinese barrel(cant remember where made, i had 5 kids freaking out in the house when i talked to lady at fed arms) and it holds tite groups as well, maybe i lukked out? any other feedback out theyre?

I am using a Federal barrel in my Glock 27 and have no problem with it fitting.
I do have a problem shooting tight groups using 357 Sig, but I have the same problem with the .40 S&W, so I suspect it is me, not the barrel.

I use an extended, ported Federal .400 Cor-Bon barrel in my G30, with great results. One caveat: On the G30, the barrel hood was cut about .055" too narrow. Not too aesthetic, but doesn't seem to affect performance. I called Federal and was told that one entire batch of their Glock barrels came with a too-narrow barrel hood.
