Federal AE 115gr in Glock 17

I've been shooting Federal's American Eagle 9mm ammo in my Glock 17 for some time now, and it's always difficult to get the residue out of the bore. I'm not trying to start an ammo war, but what brand of ammo are any of you Glock owners using, and how well does your gun clean up after a range session?

I'm thinking about changing ammo brands, but the place I prefer to buy from (ammoman.com) seems to carry mostly Federal in 9mm.

It's not the ammo it's the gun. It sort of goes away after about 5,000 rounds. It's something in the barrel maybe the Tenifer wearing in, I'm not sure. But my Glock 19 and 26 did that.

i shoot Federal American Eagle in all of my glocks and don't have that much trouble cleaning the bores. You might want to try Speer Lawman which is supposed to be pretty clean ammo but American Eagle is still good stuff. i also buy my ammo from ammoman.

Federal: American Eagle, FMJ, 115 and 124 grainers, 124 grain Hydra-Shoks, NATO Ball M882, 124 grain.

Winchester White Box, 115 grain FMJ.

Speer Lawman, 115 grain FMJ.

Fiocchi, 115 grain FMJ.

The Winchester White Box leaves a bit more powder residue after firing, but the bore cleans-up easily with standard cleaning procedures.

Thanks for the info, people! :)

Russell92 - what solvent do you use to clean the bore?

I like the Federal AE ammo and would prefer to keep using it if I can get the cleaning problem licked.
