I know in recent times the law has changed and allowed people to fax a signed FFL letter to a seller for sales where the firearm has to be shipped.
Would keeping a database of FFL letters on the internet available for sellers/buyers to access at a click be legal?
The buying side would sign the letter with a digital signing device (like how you sign for fedex packages). I think this would make the transaction faster and would save the trees while we're at it
The receiving end would be sent a digitally signed FFL and could print it or keep it in digital storage (backed up of course)
I ask because I work part time at a gun shop and I know how much paperwork you guys keep stored.. and the fire safe boxes some gun shops have are expensive. I just think a digital microfiche system that is systematically backed up would be better... any ideas?
