Favorite Single Six grips?

It hit me the other day that I don't own a Single Six; some might argue that such an omission, in a revolver fan, borders on a moral failing. Reckon I'll pick up a 5.5" stainless number with the .22 Mag cylinder -- Ruger model number KNR5.

I ordinarily personalize my revolvers with aftermarket grips or stocks. What do people like on the Single Six?

- The Ruger faux-ivory grips look pretty good on the website - around $95

- Midway has dark Ajax "pearlite" grips for $35 or so

- Eagle Grips' Gunfighter series includes nice-looking rosewood grips for BH/Single Six at $60, or $80 with checkering.

Other thoughts?

Pics appreciated too, of course.

I'm considering the Ruger faux-ivory grips on mine too when I get the funds. Getting the 36 LS this week and hopefully a bodyguard sometime this year but I do want to treat my Single Six right. Mine's a 4" blue so you can imagine how pretty the ivory would look on mine. :)

So do I -- will Ruger sell one those grips without the gun?

Hmm. Dark laminated grips for the "Super Blackhawk and Hunter" revolvers are available on the Ruger website for "$47.50 each."

I believe that means $47.50 for the set, not $95 for the set.

Question is whether these would fit a Single Six or not. But I think so -- SS just uses the Blackhawk grip -- and the SS Hunter is a "Hunter" and uses the same grip shape as the regular SS, so these should be the same size and shape as ordinary SS grips.

Sorry, pardon the maundering. The upshot is that I think one can indeed get the "Hunter" grips for one's regular Single Six. That would look cool, esp. on a stainless gun.

Ajax grips...

I just ordered a set of faux ivory with a texas star medallion yesterday for my blue single six Fifty bucks plus shipping.

I have a couple of cowboy single actions. I like the wood grips on both, but will probably change somewhere down the road. I have purchased 2 sets of wood grips from Houge, and 3 sets of wood grips from Eagle. For the price, Eagle makes good quality wood grips... :)
