Favorite shot size and brand for your waterfowling?

Which type ? They come in various sizes !
My Canada goose loads were always 12 Ga, 3" BB steel .
Do some research ! Check SAAMI info. For that load 25-45 yd range is what is needed. Always pattern your loads especially as steel shot will have a tighter pattern. Find max range for safety.
 
Big ducks: #2 and #1 for late season.

Small ducks: #4

Geese: BB's

All in 12 gauge at a speed of 1,500-1,550 fps. Geese with a 3 1/2" shell as well as the late season ducks. Other loads would be 3".
 
Ducks: 2 3/4 " #2 steel.
Geese: 2 3/4" BB steel.

But, I tend to shoot mine gear down over the dekes, and only take close passing shots.

I like the concept of Hevishot, bismuth, etc. But I refuse to pay over $1 a shot for waterfowl. If you like to do that, more power to you.
