favorite rifle

Hi, first post here. I am just wondering what some of you guys' favorite rifles are. (also shotguns are welcome) whether its the simplest single shot, or your 10,000$ sniper. Mine is my Franchi Variomax 720, i got it from my dad about 2 years ago to use in 4-H shotgun team. I bought it barely used for about 750$ and have never had it jam, or fail to cycle a quality shell

Easy choice for me.....

The M14 of course:)

Oh, I like them all. All four.

Garand
AR-15
Henry 22
CZ 527 in x39

I guess if I had to sell all but one, the Garand would still be here.

My custom 1963 Remington 700 in 300 win mag long range makes me smile.:D
And welcome to TFL.

All of them are my favorites. I have to say though, this season, I'm really enjoying the Savage Precision Carbine in .308 I bought last winter. This is an awesome little hunting rifle. Short and manueverable with decent balance. Accurate as can be and racking up the kills.

Generally, the one I've got in my hand is my favorite. This year, it's a little Model 10 Savage in .308 I picked up in a pawn shop rack. It was a sad little thing with a mismatched stock, only one action bolt, and a magazine that it couldn't feed from. I took pity on it and brought it home, cleaned it up, and found a proper stock with a blind magazine so that it could feed.

I don't know what it started life looking like but now it's a model 11 FNS, Plain-jane hunting rifle. It shoots 156 Gamekings into under an inch and I believe that it's the rifle I'm taking to the woods this year.

I've limited myself to one woman, I don't intend to limit myself to one rifle.

My lever action Marlin 36 (1973 vintage) in 30-30 is my go to gun. Fun to cast and load bullets for and great for my area of East Texas with lots of forests and thickets where a 75 yards shot is about as good as it gets with out a tree in the way! I'm good with the 30-30 out to 150 yards but after than my eyesight won't let me see the side of a barn. I also enjoy my Remington 870 pump in 12 gauge and am particularly fond of the Truball 1 ounce slugs. I can shoot a soda pop can at 50 yards with no trouble! :)

I've got an old Stevens 311 20ga double barrel that my grandpa gave me. Taken down alot of doves with that one. If my house was burning down, it would be the one I grabbed.

My Browning BAR Safari II in .300 Win Mag with the BOSS system. Great long range shooting, hits hard and it's purdy too!
