I really want like the simplicity of the mil dot reticles but was wondering how easy is it to make second shot corrections as compared to hash based milling reticles, especially at longer ranges and higher magnifications? I would really like to hear everyones experience as I can't seem to find good examples at my local optics stores to look thru.
Please don't vote an option just because you own that particular reticle, I already which one is the most common Vote what you think is best!
Honestly I still prefer just a regular Duplex, coupled with a nice range finder. But after I zero a rifle, I do drop tests with the load I want and make up a nice chart and laminate it, and either tape it to the stock, or in the top of the scope cap cover.
That way when I range something... I have a handy little chart that tells me how many clicks up, or down I need to move from my zero.
Guess you can call me a cheater.
PS. My method sometimes requires bases that you can either adjust, or come with a standard MOA cant, depending on the scope, round, and distances you plan on running, sometimes you can run out of vertical adjustment.
