Favorite HD & ccw pistols & what you load them with!

Kimber Classic Stainless full size. Trigger job and reliability package done by a local smith, thin grips, Wolff 18.5 variable recoil spring, Wilson 47D mags, 230 gr Hydra shok ammo. Carried in a Alessi Talon Plus.

CCW is a baby Glock 26 9mm loaded with Federal Hydra-Shok JHP

Light and comfortable in a IWB holster.
It goes from my hip to the bed side so it's my HD also.

HD: Currently is a Ruger KGP-141 loaded with Remington 110gr SJHP

CCW is a G19 loaded with Remington 115gr +p HP's

HD- Remington 870 w/ 00 buck & Win 94 30-30 w/ Federal 170 gr Hi-Shok

CCW- H&K USP9C w/ 115 gr CORBON +P in DeSantis belly band

I use the same pistol for both CCW and HD, a Ruger P95 with 15+1 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 124 gr JHPs. If there's a home invasion, Thelma gets the 12 gauge Mossberg.

One of the same, Sig P220 .45ACP stoked with
Federal 230 grain Hydra-Shok's.

Same thing...45 ACP...either 200 gr XTP over 10 gr of AA#5 or SWC over the same load...Sometimes a load of 10 gr of Blue Dot instead...Or some Hardball if it's handy...

S&W Model 19 or Model 28, .357 Mag., 4", loaded with Golden Sabre 125-gr. JHP.

HK P7M13 or Beretta 92 9mm, loaded with Federal Hydrashok 124-gr. +P.

Occasionally a Model 1917 Smith & Wesson .45 Brazilian contract, loaded with 230-gr. FMJs.

Occasionally a EAA Witness in 10mm, loaded with 180-gr. Federal Classic JHPs.

The reason I switch out depends on what gun I've had to the range, whether my primary night-stand gun is in need of cleaning, etc.

Oh yeah, under the bed is a Smith & Wesson 3000 Police riot gun in 12 gauge, stoked with Winchester or Remington (can't remember which) No. 4 buckshot, with another 5 rounds of S&B 00 buck (12 pellets, not the normal 9) in the carrier on the buttstock.

The above are my Home Defense Guns.

For CCW, I normally carry an S&W 042 with 125-gr. Fed. Nyclad +Ps.

I also carry a 2.5" Model 19 loaded with the Golden Saber 125s in .357 Mag.

When I carry a semi-auto, which is rarely, it's normally an HK P7M13 or a Kahr K9, with Fed. Hydrashok 124-gr. +Ps.

HD: G30 loaded with Federal HydraShok 230 JHP. Sometimes the G23 listed below but usually the G30.

CCW: Either a G30 loaded with FHS 230 JHP or a G23 loaded with Remington Golden Saber. Not sure of grain size. 185gr I think

HD and CCW

HD - HK USPc 40 w/ Pro-load tactical 165g gold dot JHP

CCW- Depending on dress the HK- IWB 165g gold dot JHP
Kahr P40 covert same ammo
Kel-tec P11 w/pro-load 124g +p
gold dot JHP

Both the Kahr and Kel-tec carried in ankle rig - renegade. Quite comfortable.

I just got home, and my G30 is firmly attached to my right hip by a Bianchi open-bottom thumbbreak holster. It is filled with Federal 230 grain JHP Hi-Shok ammo.

Over there, in the quicksafe, is my G21, filled with the best 230 grain .45 Super Tactical loads I could load for it.

And in the other corner...there's the Rem M870 w/ five XXMag 00 Buck 3" shells in it!

Ought to do for the usual disturbances in these parts.

CLUNK, CLUNK

Oh... he said not all at the same time... I was gonna say, now we know why you don't have a moat... they'd just push you in.... or perhaps you're from Chicago... don't want to be blown away... or maybe you're worried they'll all malfunction... you'll have a 10 +1 single shot gun (10rd Mag limits)... aww forget it.

:D
