favorite choke tubes...

for years, I bought exclusively Briley extended sporting clay choke tubes. Now, I'm buying Carlson's. Great company to do business with, and they discount direct orders. The knurled extension is also longer than either Briley or Trulock. All three companies produce equal quality products, so why not pick the most economical... ;)

From archie one to another: form follows function -- I've had good results with flush Brileys; but, I don't change them much.

Here, LM is most often used, followed by IC and Mod. There's half a dozen makers in my boxes and muzzles including Carlson's.

Last weekend I examined a set of Mullers, the non metallic tubes. The owner, a nice guy named Chris Ford, swears by them. He shoots rather well.

The Mullers weigh about what a feather does, and have maybe a 3" extension.

If they weren't $75 each, I'd have a couple sets.

I'm fond of the Angle Port chokes. Nicely made, but what I like most is how they are marked. Being an engineering type, I like the nominal bore diameter followed by the constriction in thousandths on the other side.

I too, am a Carlson fan. I sold the 2 Muller chokes I had for my Browning Cynergy Sporting and am sticking with the Midas chokes which are oem.

Where the Mullers are gaining fame is from that lack of weight right at the end of the muzzle. Those extra 3-4 ounces at the end can have a difference on swing dynamics for some; plus they don't get dirty, according to the press releases as they are ceramic-coated aluminum.

If the tube matches the bore and gives you the pattern you want, then it doesn't matter whose name is on them

My friend, you have a point there.

I haven't used anything except Browning Midas grade choke tubes for a long time....maybe, if I ever need to replace them ...I'll consider something else ...but I think I'd stick with Browning or Briley ... ( but no reason why / other than they've been good in the past ) . I think Briley probably makes Browning's chokes ...but not sure...
