Father's Day "Gun Meltdown"

On Father's Day, a gun grabber in Tempe, AZ talked the City into hosting a "gun meltdown" at City Hall. The results were reported in the Arizona Republic the next day. Twenty-four guns were turned in. Two of the guns were found to be stolen. One participant was quoted as saying, "My name is David, and that's all you're going to find out about me." Although a police officer was there with a laptop computer with which he "...could almost instantaneously check whether a gun had a criminal history," the event was a "no questions asked" type of deal.

Thank you City of Tempe for hosting this free crime-gun disposal service. Let's see if the gun related crime increases during the week before Father's Day next year.
