fastfood vs. guns

so they passed a bill that protects fastfood chains from lawsuits by people claiming they are responsible for their obesity:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/20/cheeseburger.bill/

that's great, i'm all for it. if you eat too much of that crap and become fat, it's your own fault. nobody held a gun to your head and forced that burger down your throat.

let's hope that the gun industry legal immunity bill will be passed as well so that gun manufacturers don't have to pay for the mistakes of a few knuckleheads out there.

Is that cheeseburger loaded? :D

Is that a cheeseburger in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? :D

Do it for the children!

Ah, yes - a McDonald's bag with more than 10 cheeseburgers in it is a CHEESEBURGER ASSAULT WEAPON!!!

Clearly, these must be restricted to use by the police and military. We can't have "civilians" carrying high capacity cheeseburger feeding devices!!!! Oh, the horror!!

The streets of America will be transformed overnight to a nightmarish likeness of... FAT CITY!!

We must outlaw this horror... FOR THE CHILDREN!!!

When Cheeseburgers are outlawed, only outlaws will have cheeseburgers. What kind of clown could argue against that?

We need a new amendment:

A well regulated population of fat asses being necessary to the security of the sellers of diet food and club membership, the right of the people to eat high calorie foods and bare giant bellies, shall not be infringed

Seriously ... I don't think I'll be sending a letter to my senators about this one, as I've been pestering them a lot recently about the various gun bills, but I sure hope it gets passed!'

Why do we have problems passing non-filibustered common sense bills like this when we have a republican Senate? What kind of Republican senators are voting for something this obvious?
