Let's play the fantasy gun game.
Take any base gun, make it into what you want.
Post a picture, if you can.

I've been thinking about this one for awhile. I'd love to see Ruger expand their SP101 line, rather than shrink it. Here's the concept:

The Ruger Compact Double-Action Hunter:

A 6-inch barreled SP101 with adjustable rear sight and full-size grips. This one is obviously .22WMR. I'd love a .357 too. Why haul around a 6" GP100 for handgun hunting when 5 rounds are perfectly adequate?

The .22 version would have a convertible cylinder, of course.

(this was photoshopped from my 4" SP101 in .22LR w/ Badger grips)

A Ruger Super Blackhawk rifle.
A high capacity .22 Magnum auto pistol, like the Grendel P30 except built out of aluminum instead of plastic.
More to come

What they called them from 1962-1966.

"M1 Garand,United States Rifle,Caliber,30,M1" per my U.S.Marine instructor each time I was required to qualify and yearly required to re qualify with one.

M1 and M14 are 2 Different Firearms.M1 is 30-06.

"United States Rifle,Caliber 7.62 mm,M14 is a selected fire weapon" per the same instructors when qualifying and yearly required re qualifying.

Also.45,carbine,BAR,Thompson & M3 grease gun.

As far as I know Submarines were the only ones who still used and were issued such a odd assortment and the antique weapons. They were for guard duty and repel boarders. Were Thompsons & grease guns considered the ideal weapon to keep someone from coming down a hatch or did the Navy need to get rid of a stockpile of the old weapons? The Grease gun was considered "disposable".M-16s were not trusted, considered unreliable to defend a nuclear Polaris submarine at the time but were being issued to the guys in combat. It seems that our Government had different values for the different folk.

46 years and I have not forgot that training!

I have heard civilians call them most anything as they do with many firearms.

hmmmm

wow allot of power here...what can I wish for : D
A rifle, thats semi-automatic. That had a shotgun rail. You know how remmy has those punp ation rifles with aperture sights. Aperture is the quickets sight system etc....I love apertures. Have an ar15 and got one on my 10/22 as well!BUT! I thin the shotgun rail is much faster than an aperture. Especially for room clearing, or other tactical operations that remingtons (pump) rifle would be used for. With some practice Accuracy could be obtained with one of these rails.
The main advantages are speed, and larger field of view (well less obstructions like the rear aperture)
Disadvantages are accuracy obviously. Perhaps a flip-up sytyem that folds down into the receiver so the rail can be used as well? I would shoot it : D
Edit: I made one hahaha

I'd be perfectly happy with a new Colt Lightning replica chambered for 44 Magnum (or better yet, 445 SuperMag). I asked them about it and they said there are no plans to offer anything other than the 45 Colt. :(

I'd like to see Ruger make a O/U Rifle based on their 28 ga Red Label action. Make it our of stainless and do some work on lightening up the actions so so that the finished product, with 18 to 22 inch barrels, comes in at around 6 1/2 to 7 pounds max.

Sombody else already made it. I think it's one of a kind. I drool over the pics almost every day.
