I was at a range outside Atlanta Saturday and met a very nice man and his son. They were firing an FAL at one end of the range while I was at the other end of the range with three of my four sons. At one point he asked if he could use my spotting scope, Sure go ahead, I replied. When the line was cold for a minute, I asked him if his FAL was one of the Canadians I had seen at a local show.
It was not a Canadian. It was a Steyr parts gun built on a dsa reciever. He must have seen me drooling because he immediately invited me to shoot it! It was a dream! He must have had a good trigger job and other accurizing because he had shot out the bullseye of a very small target at over 100yds with iron sites!
After firing this fine rifle we spoke briefly. I was not surprised that this very articulate and knowledgeable man was a fellow TFL member! Thanks friend!
