FAL and shooting sling

I see slings attached to barrels and im thinking using it as a shooting aid will change poi. I see that the handguard can accomadate a side swive, wondering how this works out? I love using a sling as a shooting aid and think FALs are cool wondering the best way to mix.

A sling attached to the barrel of a FAL will change the zero drastically. More than anyone would believe unless you tried it.

I know I tried it.

Believe it or not as much as 12 to 15 inches at 100 yards if you get into a really tight prone like you would in a rapid fire string with a Garand.

A really tight sling actually bends the barrel.

You can buy float tubes for a FAL.

here’s a neat trick from the Aussie Army for the web sling. Pull the sling straight back towards the receiver, make a half hitch around the handguard, and then go about your business using it as a shooting sling
