Fair price on a used Marlin .357 lever carbine?

A local gunshop, super nice but known for slightly higher prices, has a very nice, like new, NOT A SCRATCH ON IT, Marlin 1894CS lever action carbine in .38/.357mag for $325. I'm thinking this is a bit high, but my Father's pretty determined. Anyone have an idea of others for sale, and at what price?

Thanks...All input much appreciated.

Well Ye Olde Blue Book of Gun Values cites a 100 per cent Model 1984CS at $385, dropping to $280 at 98 per cent. Your price sounds fair depending on the condition. Go into the store, put three 100 dollar bills on the counter and ask to take the gun home. If they insist on full price ask them to throw in a box of ammo. If that doesn't work and if the rifle is as nice as you describe it, buy the gun and enjoy.
