Fair Price for .44 S&W Special Ammo?

I think I remember seeing some posts here about inexpensive .44 S&W Special Ammo, but I can't seem to find them when I search. So, sorry for the repeat, but is $22 a fair price for 50 Winchester "Grey Box" .44 S&W Special rounds? I can also get 50 Winchester "White Box" .44 MAGs for about $16, but I like the specials for target.

If $22 is way out of line, then where can I get my hands on a better deal? If you are interested, I get the above prices at Sportsman's Warehouse; we have two locations in the Denver area.

And just so we don't repeat ourselves over and over again, I know that I should start reloadong... Thanks in advance!

Good luck.

I've been looking for reasonably priced .44 Spl. ammo for a long time.

Best I've found in Northern Virginia is $18 a box for CCI Blazers. Most is significatnly more expensive.

Luckily, I can handload for about 1/3rd the cost.

I usually find the same CCI Blazers as Mike for about the same price. They're Gold Dot HP's. I saved these for my home/self defence ammo and added this caliber to my reloading.

One thing I didn't mention about the Blazer Gold Dots in .44 Spl. is that they are TURBO accurate in my 6.5" Model 24.

I did a 25-yard sandbag shoot with some and got one large, ragged hole with 6 shots.

Academy Sports in Birmingham sells Blazer 200gr Gold Dot Hollow Points for $14 including tax.Although I rarely shoot 44 specials,I do have 3 different models that will shoot these,so I buy a box occasionally. :)
