Failure to feed

New to the forum and a fairly new handgun shooter using an M&P 9. Every 6 rounds or so I end up with a ftf. Not sure what is causing this. It wasn't an issue until recently. I did install the apex dcaek recently. I didn't notice a problem until after the install. Could I have messed up something? I know the most likely culprate is limp wresting, but I don't think that I am. I am using a thumbs forward grip. Is there a way to figure out if it's me or my M&P?

The kit, according to the description, consists of a sear, sear spring, trigger return spring and striker block parts.

If the problem was a failure to fire, then it could very well be caused by replacing these parts.
But it's not clearly evident how doing so could be responsible for failure to feeds.
So, what does ftf mean in this case?
Have you checked videos on the installation to see if anything comes to mind?

I agree that replacing those parts should not cause a failure to feed, but I suggest making sure the kit was installed properly, and reviewing everything that was done, even if it did not seem important at the time..

It could be that there is not enough clearance between the extractor and the firing pin at the back of the gun. This is an issue that Smith and Wesson had in the past. Call them and they should fix it without any hitches where it will work flawlessly again. My brother had a similar problem.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll have to send it in. Same problem with other shooters. Does anyone know how shipping works? Am I going to have to have to pay ffl fees each way? also what ha[pens if I send it in and I don't remove the apex parts? I don't have the originals anymore.

Call S&W. They are pretty good about sending a shipping label so you don't have to pay shipping for warranty repairs.

On the parts, most companies won't let a gun out of their factory unless it meets their factory specifications, which the after market parts obviously don't. They will probably replace those parts with factory parts but return the parts with the gun. Also, remove any after-market grips.
