The first reports @ 1:43 pm from the New York Post claimed the shooter used "An assault rifle, shotgun and pipe bombs.

It was updated @ 9:21 pm & the AR was dropped from the story.
Sort of makes you wonder just what's going on with the media & the current state of affairs?
Almost like they had the story all set to go & the kid threw them a curve.....

Nah--- that's too tinfoil hat stuff isn't it?
