Any suggestions on factory ammo for Encore 26" heavy barrel in 7mm mag? I really wanted it to like Federal Ballistic Tip, but so far the best groups are from Winchester 150 soft point. At $20 a box I have only tested 3 different rounds. I know I need to handload, not enough time...

What size game will you hope to take with this?
"Limiting" yourself to factory ammo (which really isn't any limitation any longer as there's a virtual pethora of factory ammo) is more an exercize of deciding what will work for what you hope to cleanly kill, picking among the several offerings, & bench-testing to see what shoots best.
If you're gong after "just deer," the WSP 150s that "shoot best" will do the trick for you.
Curious as to why you'd want to use BTs & what is "shoots best" so far re group size between the ones you've tried .... nothing intended, merely curious.

This rifle will probably be my primary long gun for Whitetail Deer here in E. TN. It is replacing my 700 BDL in .270. The WSP's in 150gr. will do 1 1/2 inch @ 200 yards. The Federal ballistic tips and Softpoints in 150gr. group just under 3 inchs @ 200. I didn't see any reason to test anything else (just to hunt with) but there are so many other choices and the more accurate the more confident I am of a clean kill.
