Factory 22 kits? (besides Kimber)

Exploring the versatility of a 22 kit, but really like the idea of it being a "factory" item rather than 3rd party.

Kimber looks good, just wanted to see if there were other common alternatives (the "search" feature is still down on TFL).

Thanks for any thoughts!

Most of the 1911 kits, the one I've seen for the Beretta, and one for the Glock are all made by Ciener. (Including the Kimber.)

They're good, but not terribly accurate. I think Wilson offers one that has been tweaked for better accuracy, but its made by Ciener, too.

If you have the 1911, the best going is the Marvel, which is seen in SHot Gun News. It has true match-grade accuracy.

I have a CZ-85 Combat, and use the CZ factory Kadet kit. It shoots as accurately as did my Ruger Target Competition (slabside). I got rid of the Ruger.

I'm not currently aware of any "factory" kits (which certainly doesn't mean there aren't some). Kimber's is made by Ciener, as is the Wilson I believe. The common ones for the Glocks and Berettas may also be Ciener's work.

Colt used to put out their own, but haven't for several years now, and Sig used to have one for their P-220 years back - but when I looked into getting one 15 or more years ago it was about $750 - which was a lot more than I wanted to fork out.

I have a Ciener for the 1911. It is the "Platinum" model with adjustable sights. It has been 100% reliable with just about any ammo, but seems to like ther Remington "Golden". Despite what I have read, this unit on my Kimber or one of my Wilsons is very accurate.

On the other hand, I bought one of the conversion units for my son for his G22. It is crap. From day one, and we have tried several different rounds, and PLENTY of break in time.... Still crap.

Called Ciener. The only fix they offered what for my son (LEO) to send his G22 (duty weapon) to them for 4 weeks so they could make it run. You BETCHA!

I have heard a lot of positive, with a small number of negative experiences with the 1911 kits, but almost nothing but negative with the Glock kits, and the same for the customer service offered to fix the Glock kits......

I am keeping my 1911 unit, but doubt I would ever buy another after the phone conversation I had with them about the Glock.

Love my Ciener kit. Had a slight problem and they suggested I send the unit AND the gun back to them for testing, saying they couldn't really trouble-shoot the problem without the entire set up. I said that I was reluctant to do that, but they were very helpful in giving me advice over the phone as to what might fix the problem, which turned out to be just the recoil spring.

CZ makes a very nice .22LR Kadet kit for their CZ-75 pistols. I shoot mine a lot more with .22 than with the 9mm slide. It is very accurate, well designed, easy to take apart and clean (has an easily removable firing pin) and has excellent adjustable sights.

They also sell the Kadet as a complete .22LR pistol.

Isn't Beretta supposed to come out with a kit for their 92FS?
