I picked this up yesterday. It is a Freedom Arms Model 97 in 357 magnum. Six shots, 5.5 inch barrel.
I got it with a 357 magnum cylinder AND a .38 Special cylinder. Black Micarta grips, and a Mernickle holster, box, bill of lading, and the work order from which it was made.
It is in like new condition, but somewhere along the line it was in a contest. I believe it was an award of some sort. I'm not into the SASS stuff very much, so I don't know the details. But obviously it has something to do with End of Trail in 2002, as it has the SASS logo and End of Trail on it. A call to Freedom Arms confirms this.
The action is like a clock, and the trigger is a perfect 3 lbs.
Having only handled a few FA guns, I can say that I am happy to have finally landed one for myself.
A few hasty photos:
These things have THE most comfortable grips known to man........ Kinda like a cross between a Ruger Bisley and a SAA.
