Hello everyone. I just helped a friend of ours pick out her first gun.
It's for home not for carry. She wanted to stay within two to three hundred dollars and wanted a 9mm. it took some doing, about an hour and a half of browsing at the gun show in Dale City Va. I ran across a new F.E.G. a Hi-Power Clone for $214.99. I didn't know much about them, but I had a vague recollection that I had heard positive comments from folks on this board at one time or another. She brought it and off to the range we went. She put over two hundred rounds down range without so much as a hic-up. The accuracy, while not as good as my real Hi-Power was very acceptable for self-defense purposes. I'd be interested in hearing from others about their experience with this pistol.

Mine has been terriffic. I've had it for about five years and 3000 rounds, no jams that weren't attributable to bad ammo or cheap mags. You got a very good deal.

I've owned Browning Hi-powers and now I own the Feg. Seems every bit as good as the Browning. Shoots the same, decent trigger and OK accuracy. Unless one is a collector, I see no reason to pay 3 times as much for the same gun. There are always deals out there, you just have to look hard.:)

They made a good decision. I love mine and don't regret the purchase. Mine was around the $200 price point. Other than the trigger not being quite as good as an FN or Browning, the rest of the pistol is good solid quality.

Your friend will enjoy it and get many years of satisfaction from it.

I own a FEG ppk/s quasi clone. very accurate, never a ftf that wasn't my fault, I understand FEG has been around for almost 100 years in Hungry. and now makes PPK's for Walther.

I've had an FEG PJK for many years now and it's been a very steady pistol. The finish is even better than on my BHPs.

FEG BHP clones are not C&R eligible, however mine has been an excellent gun, hard to go wrong for $214 for one, I think I paid $229 at a local gunshow.

Don't forget the instruction. For a complete handgun beginner I'm betting the SA manual or arms has caused more unintentional holes than any other...

Thanks for the feedback. It's very reassuring. I had told my friend that if she brought the gun on my advise and it was a lemon that I would buy it from her. It looks like she'll be keeping it.

FEG

HOWEVER! THEY HAVE (IN THE PAST) TESTED THE MARKET (with Century) a .45 acp HI-POWER CLONE... and now they reappear as the ACK 45

Good $250.00 gun IF you are prepared to deal with the fact the the front sight blows off after 350 rounda and AGAIN right after RETURN from Importer warranty service

ACCURATE AS HELL !!! All 8 rounds in 2.5" bull at 45 feet (till the sight blows off)

Just silver-solder the front sight on and someday they'll realize at Fegyar that they hafta' be "pegged and peened" to be RIGHT
