Eyeing the Beretta 92FS

I had said in an ealier thread that I was wanting an USP .45 but I have also been eyeing the Bereeta 92FS would that be a good handgun to start out with.

The Beretta 92FS is a nice handgun. Its a good size, feels nice, has good ergonomics. hicaps are available, and its simple to clean. You can't go wrong with a 92FS. 9mm is also much cheaper to shoot than .45. The 92FS in the INOX finish with black hogue wraparound rubber grips is absolutly gorgeous.

Because the 92FS is such a popular gun, your local range should have a few to rent. Rent one and put a few rounds through it. They are very nice.

The Beretta 92fs is what I learned to shoot with. To this day, it just feels natural to pick one up and shoot...my hands just fit it so well. Plus, mine have been 100% reliable all these years and rounds later. :D
If this is the gun you like, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

The Beretta 92 fires a nice low recoil cartridge and has many high capacity magazines still available. That's what I would go with.

the Beretta 92FS was my first handgun and it's still one of my favorites. out of any handgun i've ever held it feels the best and points the most naturally. mine is also extreemly reliable and accurate. i have a 92FS and a 92G Elite; i can't wait for the new 92 Vertec to come out; i wanna see how it feels and if i like it i'll probably get one of them too.

The Beretta 92 is the archtypical DA/SA service pistol. The smoothness and build quality is fantastic on all the ones I have seen. 9mm is a great learning caliber, cheap and plentiful.

With a 15 round magazine and Hydrashoks, it's formidable! I want one!

If it feels right in your hand, and you can fire it comfortably, by all means get one. It was the first handgun I bought, and will probably be with longer than many I've bought since. I've never had any problems with it, and have lost count of how many rounds I've fired through it.

You Mean One Of These!!

I Would reccommend IT!

There is no one best gun. However, I did all the research when I was picking my first gun. Test fired a lot of guns. Eventually decided I wanted a 9mm hi-cap full sized gun with a safety and an exposed hammer. In the end, it came down to the Beretta and the USP. I ended up with the Beretta, and have loved it ever since. Excellent gun. I've since picked up a USPc (and a few others), but still love the Beretta.

The Beretta 92FS is a great pistol, and in the Inox version probably the best-looking autoloader yet made. Mine have always been reliable, accurate and pleasant to shoot. 15-rounders for the 92FS are still cheaper than most other pre-ban magazines...mostly because M9 magazines have a habit of walking off military bases all the time. :)

The 92FS is my gun of choice for teaching newbies the finer points of autopistol shooting. The low recoil, good ergonomics, and confidence-building accuracy makes it a great learner's gun.

I have a 9mm Brigadier FS and I love it. Nice pistol. 2K+ rounds with "0" FTF,FTE,etc. It actually appears to be getting smoother.

Mike:)

Here is mine :) It has never had a FTE or FTF. The functionality and finish are both perfect. I highly recommend the 92FS.

One more thing.

Berettas are great guns. But for some reason you do not like it. Seek out a CZ 75b. I have one (bought it over a beretta) and I love it. Its similar to the beretta in reliablity and accuracy. I'll admit that it doesn;t look as good, but its also much cheaper. I bought the MIL version and payed $400. Thats with a factory hicap and a castrated 10 rounder. Hicaps are also avaliable and are dern cheap. I think i payed $10 for USA mags for the CZ, and they work perfectly.

Not trying to sway you from the 92FS, just trying to open your mind.

And damn all of you who posted pics of the INOX 92s. You're giving me that itch!

My 92FS has been one fine gun. Mine is still new, having only about 300 rounds through it. I like it. It's only drawback is that it is just a tad to big to carry concealed. But, you can't fault it for that, it wasn't designed to be carried that way. Go for it, it's a great weapon!!:)

All hail Beretta................

I LOVE MY BERETTA 92FS! This is the best semi-auto that I own. I use it in my handgun classes after going through the .22 caliber. I put the wrap around houges on it, just added a laserlyte to it and fell in love with it all over again. My wife prefers this gun to all my others and it has become our home defense weapon. With 15 plus in the magazine and low recoil it is awsome!
