Extreme Shock for hunting?

So I was reading some reviews on people using the extreme shock ammunition to hunt white tail? I was just wondering if any of you guys have ever used the stuff and what you tihnk of it. Looks like it would be kinda neat to use once just to see what happens! I have a .308 now and also would like to know what round you think would be the best deer slayer?

Yeesh. Do they even make any rifle ammo?

Whatever they made, I'd expect it to be "designed" to be highly frangible, resulting in a lot of bloodshot meat, bone fragments, etc.

That is, if it performed as advertised. Box of Truth, IIRC, did a test of their stuff and it more or less acted like FMJ.

For deer, any old .30 caliber 150gr softpoint will do just fine.

Don't buy into this wizbang crap, next thing you know, you'll be hunting with exploding chinese stars and donning a ninja suit.

Its over priced hyped up nonsense. Do yourself a favor pick up regular soft point hunting bullets in 150-165 grain, and be happy, have great reliable bullet performance, and keep more money in your pocket. Pick up something along the lines of Remington corelockts, winchester power points, federal power shock ect Do NOT buy anything that is FMJ or frangible/varmint.

This, as long as your rifle likes them....

....and you put it in the right spot.

Yes...

But, nothing works if you don't put it in the right spot. (The lack of "putting it in the right spot" is why you hear so many stories of "yea, I had my 06 last year, but that Elk didn't DRT... so, I got this 7mm Rem Ultra Mag.")

Didn't Federal make some hunting ammo by that name ? Otherwise I've never heard of it , Who makes is , and why !

Extreme shock is very good for hunting. If you're hunting for a laugh, just read an extreme shock add!!! Sorry, couldn't resist!

WOW

 Yes sir ! Looks like there's a whole WannaBe industry out there . The sad part is that the Anti Gun Control crowd thinks that these folks are a real threat , to whatever.

Bandit007 I believe says it all. He is correct. I had a few .308 but do not any more went to a 06. But in both of them I liked the 165 grain Nosler Partitions. I do reload, but any good quility factory ammo should work. In a few differnt grains. I guess that would come down to what your rifle likes, 150 grain, 165 grain, 180 grain which is getting a bit heavy would all work good. But I do like the 165 Nosler Parititions, but that is just myself everyone has there favorites, and what works best for them. I believe you can buy them factory loaded, but they cost a little more. I am sure on whitetail any good factory load that your rifle likes would do.
