B boing New member Jun 11, 2002 #2 Never heard that, but it could be so, I guess. The frame is stronger for the higher pressures of .357 and .40. Either way, the 228 extractor is as strong as it needs to be. Over 3000 rounds through my 228, and no problems with the extractor. PS- Welcome to TFL.
