Ignoring the practicality of it, suppose i wanted to shoot a 22lr round out past it's practical limits, what rifle(field grade, no bull barreles please) would you use.

My marlin is frighteningly accurate, but i'm sure there has to be better ones, Kimber, remington, what shoots the tinyiest groups. also, what optics would you recomend. Shepherd makes a 10x with a it's patented recticle set for the 22lr, leapold makes many appropriate mil dot scopes, what would you suggest.

I ask because i have been able to punch 2.25 inch groups with my marlin 25n and a cheap import 6-24x50 scope with really cloudy optics at 200 yards in no wind with $8 for 550 round bulk ammo . i'm not trying to boast, but at that range, i never expected a rimfire to do that! I love the 22lr, and i want to see what a 22 can really do with better ammo, scope and rifle. I want to use a standard type gun, one you would take out in the woods to shoot at rabbits or squrells, as i feel match chambers and bull barrels are best left to target shooters.
