extra barrel for Pardner Pump 20 gauge?

Does anyone know what barrels are interchangeable with the Pardner Pump 20gauge? I have a 21" barrel that came stock with the shotgun, but I am looking for a 26 or 28" smoothbore that I could use for clays. Does anyone know what manufacturer has barrels that would work for this, or does H&R make their own replacement barrels? Thanks for the help.

H&R has there own barrels. http://www.hr1871.com/Support/accessoryProgram.asp It lists a 28" vant rib for the 20 gauge with a screw in modified choke for just $85.

I have heard some people say that since it is a replica of the Remington 870 that the barrels are interchangable, but seeing as 870 barrels run for around 150 + dollars and the pardner pump only costs 159 at walmart, I would say I should just buy a new parder pump instead. I was just hoping that this isnt true, and that there is a cheaper alternative out there.

I don't know about putting an 870 barrel on the H&R Protector, but some have got them to work on antoher Chinese 870, the Hawk/Interstate 982, clone by making an adapter. The problem with the 982 was that the barrel matched up with the receiver and bolt, but the barrel guide ring on the 870 barrels was a few inches nearer its breech than was the one on a 982 barrel. Consequently, tightening the mag cap did nothing to tighten the breech against the receiver.

Some solved the issue by cutting a piece of pipe with an inside diameter just larger than the outside diamater of the magazine tube and slipping it over the magazine after sliding the barrel in place.

I believe if you google the internet you may find something specific to the pardner protector.

This guy max100 seems to have gotten into some trouble with filling orders for extension mags, but does seem to know the 870 clones.

I would borrow someone's 870 barrel to fit on your protector before buying one. If it fits, good luck. I would not make a spacer out of pvc like someone elsse did and posted pics on the internet.
