Extra ammo in calibers not needed

What to do with this?

No, I don't have room to keep ammo in calibers I don't need.

Will local gun shops buy ammo (understand if they don't as everyone fears liability).

Maybe I can just put it on gunbroker for a low enough price to make shipping worth it?

Have 7.62x39, .380 and 40 cal. Not thousands of rounds, just a couple boxes of the the pistol calibers and maybe 20 boxes of the 7.62x39.

I've talked to a few Gunsmiths in my area over the years, and one thing they pretty much all said they wish they had more of was ammo. If there's any GS's in your area, you might see if they would credit you towards some minor work or adjustments. There wasn't really much wrong with the days of when things, items, services could be bartered.

Far from Ft Worth.

All factory.

Will talk to my LGS guy. I didn't know if they were wary of taking ammo off the streets. Maybe at the gun show?

Unwanted Ammo

I sold some at the last gun show in Florida and have done this several other times in the past.
Are you a member of a gun club or range? Try some of the members if so.

Where in Texas? If you're around Lubbock or Central Texas (Austin, San Antonio, Fredericksburg, etc...) or even anywhere between the two, I might take the 7,62x39.

If you have the room, store it. I have gone over a decade with ammo sitting on my shelves that I no longer have a firearm for and then one day I find one in that chambering that comes home with me. Then you have a nice surprise, ammo that is priced right!

If you don't have the room, and have a mixed bag of different "shapes and sizes", put up an ad at the local range for the whole lot at a somewhat discounted price. Your "mixed bag" will be wanted by someone and usually sells quickly.

Like AZAK, I also have ammunition on my shelves that I no longer have a gun to fire it in. Maybe one of these days I will find one that I like.
-- I think I have something like 500 rounds of .40 caliber that I did not sell with the gun.
-- Several boxes of 7mm rifle ammo.
-- three boxes of .44 Mag.

Also try pawn shops. If the ammo is in factory boxes, they may take it. In my experience, most will not take someone reloads.

Could you put an ad someplace that says you are willing to trade for ammo that you can shoot?

Why can't you get rid of it on this board?

I have half a box of .32lc in Vegas I'd like to get rid of but with gas price's it's almost a worthless effort.

I'd be interested in the .40 rounds, and if you use USPS Priority Flat Rate boxes, shipping is decent...if they ship ammo. :D

I have some odd calibers that I no longer have firearms for. When I think about it, I'll take it to the range and just give it away.
