Extended slide release for Ithica DS

I have an Ithica DS Police Special. I am not familiar w/ other Ithicas but the slide release on mine sucks. Does anyone make an extended slide release for this weapon? Do the old models use the same "flush w/ the trigger guard release"?

As far as I know the factory release is the only game in town. They've had the same style release on them for years and years. Don't know if the knw 87's have an extended release or not. Haven't seen too many at gunshows.
Also there's a Chinese copy of the 37 now being made but supposedly no parts interchange, but that may be something to check out.
