Bad news out of Boston

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationw...marathon-finish-line-20130415,0,5849240.story

Two explosions went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon around 3 hours after the winners finished. No casualties are being reported yet but the news pictures show a lot of blood and twitter profiles mention people having lost limbs. Dozens have been injured and unfortunately I see some of these resulting in fatalities.

No word yet on who, how, or why

A very sad incident, and it seems it was not just runners, but many bystanders as well.

If it was an attack. Reports so far just say two, back-to-back, explosions.

In the past, that has sometimes been gas mains, as opposed to bombs.

It could have been a bombing, but it could have been something more mundane.

That's terrible. There's alot of sick people in the world who have no regard for life of innocent man, woman or child.
It also demonstrates that guns aren't the problem. It could have just as easily been a truck going through the playground in newton.
I hope they catch them, send them to Texas where death row inmates move to the front of the line, not run appeals for 30 years.

Someone please tell me how this is firearms-related. While it does appear to be big news, it looks to me like it's off-topic big news.

Sorry Spats, I should have cleared that up in my PM to you.

They were improvised explosive devices so I guess that's NFA regulated? I'm reaching.

But in all reality, I got the gut feeling that this would be relevant to us somehow. I'm unable to justify it though

It may become relevant in the near future, but for now, it's just news. Here's what I'll do. I'm going to close the thread for now, but if something comes up that makes this a TFL-relevant discussion, I'll reopen it. Someone just PM me if anything comes to light that puts it in our arena.
