Hi,

I am thinking of trying the Hogue snap on Bantam grips for my Round Butt J Frame S&W 642?

Very, very light and look good. Any one with experience with these grips? I would like to hear your opinion.

Thanks, Keko

I've got them on both of my J's. It's my favorite grip for the J's. I've used lots of grips over the years and prefer these for using. I like the slightly sticky feel. It helps hold them when in my waistband. Cheap as well.

DO NOT use them on blued Js! I did. My frames rusted. They form and hold condensation from environmental changes. I stopped using Hogue grips completely, especially their Monogrips. YMMV

I swapped them onto my S&W M617 snubby before I even left the gunshop. I love them. Great mix of comfort and concealability.

If your 642 came with S&W bootgrips then there's no real advantage to swapping on the Hogues.

Having said that, they worked great on my 36.
