Exercising while carrying?

I like to run outside later at night because it is the most convienant time for me. Even carrying a small tactical flashlight and knife is somewhat cumbersome. I do realize that because my only pistol at the moment is a springfield xd subcompact it is very unlikely I will be able to carry this. What I really want to know is if there is something out there that makes it possible to carry something like a small Kel-Tec or J Frame.

I forget who makes it but there is a company making a "belly band", essentially it is an elastic wrap that goes around the stomach with a built in holster for a small auto or revolver. Should be pretty secure and is snug enough not to hinder running. You might try googling it or look at Midway.

When I go jogging, I use a belly band with a Kel-Tec P-11. Works great but I feel it constrict my belly a little and slightly effects by breathing. I did try the fanny pack but if you run, it will slap up and down (even when pulled tight) and really causes a distraction.

I got a clip for my LCP just for jogging. I just clip it inside my jogging pants. I tried the Seecamp in the pocket for a while but all the banging against my leg started to hurt after a while.

How about a holster shirt? There are a few manufacturers...

A Better Holster

It looks like something you could wear under a running shirt, sweatshirt, wind breaker, or the like. Only problem I see is that it wouldn't provide a moisture barrier for your firearm. Though I would think a good wipe down with a lightly oiled gun rag would be all you need to protect your firearm.

Unable to google it right now, but there's a manufacturer that makes a pack specifically for exercising. Straps across the center of your chest with straps top and bottom to keep it from flopping around. It has a velcro enclosure for quick draw.

I try to make it to the gym at least every other evening. When I go I am always armed My current method of choice and firearm is a Kahr CW9 inside of a leather fanny pack with built in holster. It really makes everything easy.

This pic is from before getting my Kahr but you get the idea.

Can't much carry here in Cali, so I have to get my exercise at home. I keep carrying the Mosin back and forth from the sofa to the refrigerator and it seems like a lot of exercise.... but I just keep getting fatter!

It was very similar to that, but it was an enclosed fanny pack so you could wear it openly without a gun showing.

Apparently, I never bookmarked it so I'm having trouble finding it again. I'll keep looking. I know I wasn't imagining things!

Try running in your everyday jeans and leather work boots or running shoes. Exercise in what you wear most often, and carry what you carry most often. Laugh or scoff, but try it first.

Try a "Smartcarry" the belt/band rides on your hips not your belly.
This prevents your breathing from being restricted as the belly bands do.
If your wearing sweats the elastic will make drawing easy. It also has a sweat proof layer in the back to keep your gun dry, not that it matters to an Keltec.

I agree. When you are really pushing the envelope exercise wear is good but ?? What does the armed forces train in. What they wear every day.

I like the jogging holster. Thanks Croz.

Little grey cotton shorty shorts and grey cotton t-shirts. Even the military knows it is not a good ides to exercise in full clothing when it is not necessary. Especially in warm weather or during fast paced activities. It is a great way to suffer dehydration, overheating, and give yourself a major rash and blisters. :)
