Exciting weekend.. Any new purchases?

Took my girlfriend up to a gunshow north of Atlanta yesterday afternoon... Didn't find anything she liked, but I did pick up a 16rnd mag for my EAA Witness 9x19 for $40. Not bad for a factory mag, so I couldn't pass it up.

Saw a lot of good deals too.

That being said, I'm taking my friend-girl :D (who just purchased a new Glock) up with me today and let her have a good look at whats goin' on. She's got issues with work and she needs to be exposed to a bunch of crazies to get her mind off things. :D

How 'bout y'all? Who got what this weekend?

..saw a really good deal on a nice Mini-14.. will report back this afternoon. ;)

Yep, Bushmaster Dissipator Carbine. Now I have "evil" black rifles in both NATO and Soviet calibers. Surprisingly, I have yet to experience any murderous urges, nor have I heard any dark whispers! The rifles just sit quietly in the safe, until I remove them, feed them ammo, and start punching paper. They haven't tried to break out of the safe, they haven't tried to load themselves, and they haven't gone on a rampage. In fact, they're as well behaved as my lever actions. Just don't understand it. Could it be these rifles are defective!? ;)

Opps, forgot to mention that the Bushmaster was an Anniversary gift from my wife. Dang, I love that women!!!!!!!!!

I missed a gun show near Atlanta this weekend? I'm slipping. I always get E-mail about the ones in Augusta or south Georgia or someplace else I'm not likely to go. Oh well, gotta get better at keeping my eyes open for this stuff.

Gusgus, you got a good woman there. Mine is getting me ammo for our anniversary later this month. I'm a happy camper too. :)

The "day" for me will be Oct 7 . It will be the first time in my life I have had the opportunity to go to a show on my b'day, and it will be a big one- my 60th! To top it off, I will probably be taking Candace, a girl I just started dating, if she can get someone to cover for her at work! Funny how things fall into place sometimes! I not only get to shop for a present for myself, but I can see what catches her eye for future reference.

KaMaKaZe, I was at the same show on Sunday. It was a low turnout on Sunday. I know one of the dealers that told me he thought the gunshow sales were dying because He said y2k sales had maxxed out buyer's credit cards and disposable income.

Gun show in Hapton, Va. this past weekend. I bought ammo. I think the cats are eating it because every time I turn around I am running low. It makes me really nervous when one of them starts hocking up a furball... I keep expecting one of them to shoot a hole in the furniture.

Gunshow in Conroe, Tx. Bought a thousand rounds of 7.62x39 for my SKS. Somethings been bothering me since I got home from the show, and I just figured it out today. A thousand rounds will take forever to shoot out of an SKS! So this coming weekend I'm going to buy (or order) a Roumanian or Maadi AK with BIG mags so the ammo won't go stale or something on me!

ordo,

Yeah, turnout on Sunday was pretty slim.. but boy was Saturday crowded. There were bunches-o-people there for sure! :) I don't know about sales bein' up or down, but you can expect a pretty big hike if AlBore gets elected. :D I think I'll get into the business to make a quick buck!

Gunshow in Mesquite, a Dallas suburb. Did a lot of looking and had a lot of fun. Not much spare cash on hand so mostly got accessories.

Wow, I'm REALLY living in the past! Got three Browning pistol magazines and paid $91 and change. Worst part is that only one was standard capacity Hgh Power(13 rounds. I REFUSE to call the mag originally designed as standard for that pistol a "High Capacity.") Nice part was that they were all Browning factory mags.

Got a replacement thumb safety for an old Colt Govt. Model. Nice (slightly used) high ride duty holster for my son's .45. Possibly the ugliest set of wood stocks ever made for a round-butt S&W. Fun show though. Both of my partners came home with new (to them) firearms.

It was a good, old fashioned gun show. Some bargains, some rarities. Plenty of surplus ammo. Some nifty old Mosin Nagants and SMLEs and all kinds of Mauser 98s. Kinda laid back--didn't see many wild-eyed ones, and even the kids were well-behaved. Kind of like back in the '70s.

Best regards to all--
Johnny

No purchases, just shooting. This upcoming weekend we have the Fort Boise gun show, so that may change. Bob Munden is also putting on a shooting exhibition in conjunction with the show - looks like a fun day!! A Basque friend is turning 30 Saturday - so I'll top off a fun Saturday of gun show and shooting show with much good food, wine and merriment. :)
