Excellent Forum

Im a newbie here at the forum, but not a newbie with guns. Im amazed at the wealth of knowledge and/or acumen found in these posts. While I never considered myself to be an expert on guns and ammo, I always felt that I knew my way around them pretty well. However, since becoming a member Ive come to realize just how incomplete my own knowledge is. From what I can tell, many of these people are indeed experts, or at the very least extremely well versed and its a pleasure to read and learn from what they have written, regardless of the subject. Informative and educational.

Many thanks,
Sam

Thanks for the compliment. I found this forum a week ago and it rocks.I`ve been down this path for over 35 years. Glad to help. Enjoy

I second the motion!

This forum and TFL in general have already been a valuable resource for me in the short time I have been around. Though I live in a well populated area, the shooting community in my area is relatively weak and disconnected. Having the collective knowledge and experience of TFL is great. Thanks for all the input.

This forum is a wonderful watering hole...

I have learned more on here than from any book I could afford to buy.

This is a respectable place, use the spitoon... :)

Outstanding Forum

I found this forum after a very unsatisfactory experience with another (major name) forum. I found the other forum to be rude, profane, crude, very elitist and hostile to any opinion not invented by the few key players. I saw people ripped open and banned for disagreeing with the powers that be. This forum is refreshing, welcoming and full of knowledge. Thanks from a lurker, and listener".

I've been into shooting for many years, but have recently become more serious with handguns in general, and python's in particular. I have found a great bunch of guys here that have given me more infomation about what I want to know then by looking through the gun magazines for the topics I am interested in. I really thank you all, the knowledge you can find here with a simple search is awesome, and accurate. Its also nice to talk to a bunch of people that share an interest, and don't give funny looks when guns or shooting is mentioned.

I know what you mean. The only place I can find any support for my interest in firearms and shooting is on forums like the Firing Line and the ranges and shops I frequent. (Oh, and my wife encourages my pastime.) I've stopped mentioning guns at work with my colleagues or with most friends--their reactions range from indifference to hostility. Of course, I live in an urban/suburban area, but it certainly isn't a liberal-leaning area.

I sometimes think of my grandpa, for whom owning and using firearms was as much a part of his life as owning and using a car. Sometime in the last few decades, guns have become "bad" in many people's minds. But my impression is that most of the people who participate in this forum are pretty decent people. Oh well . . . .
