Heck, somebody even shot down a Zero with one once! Honest! :D

Well, the "small aircraft" thing was mostly in jest, but it was
referring to a story I heard somewhere about a rifle platoon
during the Korean war that shot down a Mig with small arms, as
it made a low-level pass. If I remember correctly, there was a
quote that went something like "M-1's, BAR's, and even .45's
were fired at the hapless commie...". The "hunter-killer from the
future thing" was referring to Arnold Schwartzenegger's use of
a .45 in the Terminator 2 movie:cool: So anyway, I hope you
all got a kick out of it.

For the record, I like 1911's, too. I was just having some fun with
the Glock- and 1911- thumper crowds.....seeing if I could get
someone to stomp around and chew the carpet before he
responded......

For the benefit of those who only speak formal English, an American aircrewman shot down over Burma had a chance to pop one from his .45 at a passing Japanese Zero. He nailed the pilot in the head and brought down the plane! :D
