EVERYBODY VOTE

I'd crawl over razor wire to get to the polls if I had to. Nothing short of a paralyzing stroke would prevent me from stepping into the booth and voting for Bush.

I just got back from voting, and I have only one question.

Why didn't I get a booth? On the news, I see these nice little private booths with lever operated voting machines, and they even have curtains. I get an aluminum briefcase with little side panels, sitting on a stand that looks like it was built by a demented 13 year old using an erector set salvaged from Goodwill. I didn't have any levers in my briefcase either, instead, I got an oversize corkboard tack, and a little book that looked to be designed by the people at Playskool. I guess there was one good thing about where I vote, there wasn't a Gore poster within 1000 feet of the place, but there were Bush/Cheney posters as close as permissable.

#186 when I voted. "W" got my vote. No voting machine for us either, just a paper ballot with a Magic Marker(tm) type pen to connect arrows to show who we voted for. Even that was too hard for one woman, she ruined three ballots before she did it correctly.

Just returned from the polls.

Usually they have two lines A-K and L-Z and you're in and out quickly.

They expected a higher turnout today, so they had three lines (instead of two).

All three lines were moving quite quickly, but they still backed up about 50 feet!

Turnout is heavy - even in the rain!

For the first time ever, the parking lot was full - with a line waiting to get into the lot!

Now I've been to a bunch of rodeos, several county fairs, and an exhibition of (censored! For the children!) and I ain't NEVER seen nothin' like THIS!!!

Whoooeeee! :)

Not a citizen yet - couldn't vote - it broke my heart

Back in the old country, I voted in every election that came up. I hope to resume that practice by nest year.

You'll all have to carry me in this one :(

Done. There was a moment of panic when the attendant didn't have my name in her book. Turns out there was a screwup in the clerk's office, and about fifty registered voters didn't get included in the rolls.

Once that got taken care of, no problems!

Later,
Chris

Yes, turnout is very heavy here in Atlanta, with the bad weather as well. One guy saw the length of the line and grumbled something about "neither one of these guys is worth it". I noticed he stayed.

Today, I did what I could to help preserve our rights. Come what may, I feel good about that.

Been there, done that. One more for Bush. :D

I stopped by during lunch. Not too crowded but more than I normally see voting this time of day. My wife went early this morning and told me folks were wrapped around the building. That's a good sign!

I went about 8:30 here on LI. Only one person ahead of me. I was no 104, kind of low for my district. Maybe the Hillary supporters are showing up tomorrow ;)

Go middle America! you folks are going to have to do the job, NY is a lost cause :(

I am no expert but I DO have an opinion.

Voted early here in Kalifornia. Two more for Bush (wife and I)! Turnout at 7am was many times more than in past elections. I live in a conservative enclave so Bush support is high. Statewide, we usually lose but, this time, who knows?
