Ever hear of Tula ammo?

Ever hear of Tula Russian ammo? If so, is it any good? I see 45 ACP 230 FMJ for $15.95, about half what many are getting and couldn't find any "out of stock" notices.

Tula makes many of the Wolf offerings, and is widely known as the worst of the Russian ammo makers.

I don't shoot any of that stuff except in 7.62x39 and 9x18, but if you must, get something from Ulyanovsk or Barnaul (mostly branded as various colors of Bear).

I've shot many hundreds of rounds of 9mm and .45ACP Tula with no issues whatsoever. Not the cleanest ammo around, and it is steel case.

I have tried some recently and it is somewhat dirty and kind of mild shooting. Even Win. White Box has more felt recoil. And as mentioned, steel cased. The stuff I got recently comes in white boxes with the bullets in a plastic tray.

Hm, it occurs to me that if I had a chron I'd shoot some to see what the velocity would do. Dirt? No biggie, let the janitor mop it up!!

I take it you're the janitor, unless you have someone else clean your guns.
LOL. If they are as dirty as it sounds the unburned powder would get all over the place if I didn't keep my holster right side up!

I use Tula and have not had any probs. Also used Brown bear and Wolf. The Wold and the Tula are dirtier. I dont know about anyone else but I clean my guns after every use so being dirty is part of the fun :) Brown bear does burn cleaner though
