Etching and painting raw lower

I am trying to decide on how to proceed. I am doing a raw lower and am looking at eltro etching it. Maybe a graphic etc.. then probably cerakote it. Would like to fill in the etchings with color to make them pop.
I hear that nothing sticks to cerakote. And look like I would have to paint the gun before I fill in the etching. So anybody got any suggestions. . Thanks in advance..

Standard process for centuries was to put mastic or wax on the metal, scrape off what wan't wanted, burn out the engraving with acid. You could do that at home with a little work. But, i'm sure that you don't want that/

Cerakote sticks to Cerakote. People do it all the time when they do multiple colors (Cerakote has to be baked between coats).
