Hi
I`m looking for a little information.
I bought a little Essex SxS this year it has 271/2" barrels.
I started a little research and found that it was possibly made by J Stevens for the Belkap Hardware Company.
But when i started to research the proof marks i found that they are Spannish from the Eibar region after 1929.
There is also a YZ that prefix`s the code number.
The Y.Z i belive denotes Laurona.
I have Emailed them but have had no reply as of yet.
There doesn`t seem to be much info on the web about the Essex gun, or books in the UK, as i`m trying to put a date to the gun.
Its not worth alot but is ideal for rough game shooting, and it fits me well,Its nice and light and is in brilliant condition just interested in finding out a little about it.
Was hoping somebody could help.
Any info will be greatly received
Regards
Eddie
