erosion question

if you can have your lightweight bullet, but not have the erosion due to bullet design with powder selection, would you actually buy it?

I'm not sure the light bullet/heavy bullet debate is all that influenced by wear and tear on the gun.

Plus I think there are a myriad of guns out there built robust enough to handle the light bullets without a problem even when they are pushed fast.

I think it's still going to be which is more effective with the same old arguments we've heard before.

For the most part, if you can afford to shoot enough ammo thru a modern revolver meant for the cartridge shot in it, to cause enough forcing cone erosion that the gun is useless, you can afford to replace or repair it. Buy a new S&W or other revolver with a lifetime warranty and the gun will be fixed or replaced for free.

IOWs...not really as issue with today's modern revolvers.

hmmm smith and wesson is having a hard time putting k l and n frames on the market.

so if yours had to be replaced under the sw warrany, youd be using a taurus till november.

Hmmmmm, most of my Smiths already have several thousand rounds thru them....several almost @ the 10,000 mark and none have excessive forcing cone/top strap erosion to prevent me shooting them. By the time I get another 10,000 rounds thru them and there is, S&W will probably be caught up. Sorry Taurus.
