ER Shaw barrels?

Thinking of ordering an E.R. Shaw barrel for a Savage FV-12(heavy barrel target model). Anyone used an ER Shaw barrel? :)

Got a 26", varmint contour 7-08 as part of a group buy. Haven't finished tweaking loads yet, but I'm getting about three-quarters of a minute so far with the 162 A-Max.

Accurate enough for me to bang steel at 1000 yards, but not a competition grade barrel, and I wouldn't expect it to be for the price. Good value for the money, IMO.

Just about any barrel. ER Shaw barrels are OK, but just OK, they are a 3/4 minute barrel. If you want the best for a reasonable price, get a McGowen. It is a 1/4 minute or better barrel.

Only have one Shaw Savage replacement barrel and its a 6.5x55 Swede heavy magnum contour Chromemoly barrel. Pretty much agree with earlier posts about Shaw being a 3/4 minute barrel. Occasionally I've shot closer to a 1/2" 4 shot 100 yd group, but expect the 3/4 when I shoot. And as written earlier, for its price Shaw is a decent barrel. Wouldn't hesitate buying another.

I would go with Shilen or Krieger before a Shaw if precision is your goal. I have a Shaw barrel on my competition AR, but as others have said, it is not a 1/2 min barrel (but I don't need it to be).

I'm not sure what Hart barrels run, but they are also worth looking in to.
