Epoxy pillar bedding.

I have heard of a gunsmith in Pennsylvania that uses epoxy and aluminium filings to create custom pillar bedding.
This interests me.
Any thoughts as to a good process for doing this?

The aluminum needs to be the consistency of dust. It is filler to prevent strength and improve surface condition/hardness. Steel is a better filler. It is used in steel bed brand bedding epoxy. LINK

Do a google search for epoxy filler material to better understand how it works.

The pillar in pillar bedding is literally a bit of tubing that keeps the receiver off the stock. A pile of reinforced Al or steel dust doesn't do that. It's actually exactly what J B Weld is.
