engraved Ruger SP101 .357

Saw a stainless SP in a shop yesterday, heavily engraved, new. Some like'em some don't. With the right grip, I think it'd make a good barbeque gun.

The question, is the engraved SP being offered by Ruger or somebody like Davidson's, or was this done privately? The shop owner couldn't say.

Ruger does offer engraving through Baron Technology, INC. I don't know how to tell who did the work.

Ruger also used to have a custom shop that offered engraving among other embellishment services. The implication was that it was done in house--I don't see that on their website anymore.

I love mine- couldn't walk away- The engraving is factory- I believe it was an anniversary edition, not sure...

The engraved sp101s are talo. I saw one once and a coue days later I just couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went back and now it's my daily CCW. It's still my favorite gun. I also got an engraved LCP to match.

Yup

That's it. The asking price was $795, new. I think the factory grip is ugly.
Not buying, but it sure turned my head. Aged ivory, or some type of onyx black would be sharp, to me.

The engraving on the Talo SP's is machine engraved. Not to be confused with much more artistic (and expensive) hand engraving.

It does look good though.
