Enfield No. 4

Can anybody give me any information on the Enfield .303 British? Ive had one given to me and I dont know much about them. Ive started doing some research, and it seems the rifle was made in 1943 in Long Branch. I dont know anything about the cartridge, ie terminal ballistics, availability, accuracy, etc. Just looking for some general info to augment my research in other places. Thanks in advance.

The #4 is the best enfield ever made! Just remember that the Action cocks when you push the Bolt forward it is totally different from a mauser in that respect.
