I'm looking for any information about this revolver.

I have searched the net and your fourm, which is very organized and seems to be well managed........getting hard to find these charatristics in forums.

I know the general info about the Enfield, what I'm looking for is:

The Cal. ( From what I've read it's 44 but not standard).

Some info on the markings on the gun.

What the value, in your expert opinion, may be.

Enfield MR IV 1922

EFD 3B

These are on the barrel: BU BP NP

304 is stamped on the cylinder

4741882 ser#

The revolver has crowns stamped in 3's (never seen this before)

On the right side (only), beneath the 1922, The design looks more like the Pope's (as in John Paul) Ten Gallon, split top, jewel incrusted, top hat.....the one he wears when riding in the two story, bulletproof, seethru, oversized Golfcart.

The gun is in near perfect condition.

Finish is not blued, but has a ribbed look.....but smooth.

Are you sure of the markings? Could it be MK VI (Mark 6)?

If so, the caliber was originally .455 Webley. Many imported into the U.S. were converted to use .45 ACP with moon clips.

The BP NP marks are commercial British proofs applied when the gun was taken out of military stores for sale.

Your description of that "ten gallon hat" is pretty graphic, but I can't offhand think of any marking like that on a British revolver. Maybe it was applied by an importer or secondary user.
