Enfield .308 diagram

I stripped an Ishapore Enfield I bought from a gunshop, but need some advice on breaking loose the butt stock from the receiver. It appears to have a threaded (?) rod from the stock through the receiver. If anyone has a disassembly diagram of an Enfield, I would be grateful to get it via email or my fax machine; I will send the address/number if you can help me out. Thanks....

This one is probably the better. It's about the IP No I Mk I**: http://www.intrepid.net/militaria/articleIP.htm

There is also a lot of information on the Enfield Collectors Forum:http://www.gunandknife.com/cgi-bin/boards/enfconfig.pl

My Enfield .308 has the buttstock secured with a large screw. You may have to clean grease or remove a felt washer to see it. I found that a tire iron fit and removed it easily.

Yeah, I used a tire iron too. Worked Great. Cleaning grease off a gun sucks! Peas!

I just bought one of these yesterday and had the same problem as you. I got the Jungle Carbine, it looks really nice, I just hope it shoots well. As far as removing grease, just use lighter fluid.

I am not familiar with the Ishapore Enfield, is it a SMLE configuration or the 1914=17 model?

In either case I have the diss/assem of the two, which do you need.

Harley, it is based on the No. 1 Mk. III. Could you send those to me too? My address is chadintex@hotmail.com. Thanks
