Email Kahr and tell them you want a .45!

I've decided my ultimate carry pistol in .45 would be a Kahr. Except Kahr doesn't make one.(I own the K40.) So I emailed them and got this response:

"The .45 ACP in the Kahr DAO pistol is under consideration but no production plans are set."

So, let them know how you feel and email kahrhq@compuserve.com , because if enough voices are heard...... :D

PLEASE! I WANT ONE!

Put me down on that list.

I think they would have a real winner with an MK45.

I also can't imagine that .45acp is that much harder on a gun then .40S&W so I don't see why they can't build one.

As for their fears of no market for such a little beastie I think they are crazy if they think nobody would want one.

E-mailed them last year, also spoke to factory reps at a show 1 1/2 yrs. ago and got somewhat the same response. Maybe if see how the G36's and the little Para LDA's are doing in the market they'll get they're act together. I'm still waiting for the K45 with that sweet DAO trigger !! I'll e-mail 'em again.

Kahr folks,
Absolutely love your pistols, I currently carry a MK40 all the time and I think it's quality is right up there with my Belgian Browning Hi-powers and various tuned 1911's that I own and carry. I think there is a general interest in you repeating your success in .45 caliber, I would personally run out and buy a pair of MK45 Elite pistols were such an item made available. Best wishes-

One of the reasons why I'd like to see a K45 is because my little Para C6.45 didn't do so well (see my 6.45 review) and I don't think I'll be able to trust it again for CCW. My K40 is built like a robust little tank, and I want that in a .45 package. (drool)

I sent one off also. I'm impressed with the quality and engineering of my little MK9. A small 5 shot .45 ACP in the MK9/40 size would definitely be the cats meow!

I'm pretty sure they will be working out any post production bugs in the Mk9 polymer 9mm's for a little while (I forget the model #), but hopefully they will do more than consider a .45 and actually start on a prototype.

I would like one too, but I wish they would start producing aluminum frames. A K45 with an light weight AL frame would be my new carry piece.

Make mine all stainless steel please...no aluminum...no polymer. An MK45 would most likely be about midway in between an MK9 and a K9 in size and would probably hold 5+1 or 6+1. That would be about perfect.

You're darn-tootin' that'd be perfect! I loved my MK9, but found it a tad small to get a good grip on. The K9 was lovely, but just a bit large for my pocket. Right between the two in size, adequate ammo payload and my favorite handgun caliber. mmm...

Are you listening, Kahr??? :D

But I don't want a .45... and I don't think you guys should want one either!

How's that for being liberal? :D

{It's a joke, son...}

I'm interested, but I'd prefer a higher set trigger so I'd have a chance to get two fingers completely on the grip. Something like this:

The image is of a Rohrbaugh 9mm that may be available this summer. It's about 14 ounces, aluminum & steel, 6+1, and about the physical size of a Kel-Tec P-32.

I want one of these too! :D

Can they make it the same size and width as the P9???

Man if they made the P9 in .45acp, I'd be down to one pistol caliber (not counting NFA stuff)! Great!
